Joe Vidal | President
1. What is your role at Bioriginal, and how long have you been there?
I joined Bioriginal in 1999, and during my tenure I have seen the company grow and prosper. I believe that my role as President is to bring out the best from the talented group of individuals that work at Bioriginal, so that we can provide our customers with the products and services that meet or exceed their expectations.
2. How has your previous experience helped you at Bioriginal?
I worked with KPMG both in the National office in Toronto as well as the Saskatoon office. This gave me a broad range of experiences in both small and large businesses.
My 8 years at Hitachi have given me a broad range of international experiences. It was where I gained an appreciation for the importance of manufacturing and quality principles, all within the context of dealing with the human element of business.
At Bioriginal, we have both large and small customers, but regardless of their size, they all expect that Bioriginal will provide high quality products, and an equally good experience on the people side of the business.
3. What professional moment or achievement are you most proud of?
I am very proud to know that at Bioriginal we have invented many of the mainstream products that are on the market today. It gives me great satisfaction to know that customers trust us with their business.
4. What is your favorite part of Bioriginal?
I appreciate the fact that what we do at Bioriginal contributes to the positive health of people that consume the products we make. It is very satisfying to know that all the time and effort makes a difference.
5. Do you personally take any nutritional supplements? If so, which nutritional supplements do you take?
I usually take a variety of omega products. From the science side, I think that GLA is an under-appreciated omega. I usually take Borage, as well as Krill oil, on a regular basis.
6. What is one thing that people might not know about you?
I grew up on a farm, and as a young person I used to spend many hours and days riding horses. In fact, I used to break horses.
