About EFA's

Essential Fatty Acids: Essential for Good Health

Often called "good fats", Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are polyunsaturated fatty acids-fats (or oils) that remain liquid at room temperature. EFAs are grouped into three categories: Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids. All EFAs have strong health-enhancing benefits include promoting cardiovascular health, brain health, and joint health (Rheumatoid Arthritis). EFAs have been used to effectively treat skin disorders, ease the symptoms of PMS, inflammatory bowel syndrome and Crohn's disease.

While the human body needs EFAs to function properly, it doesn't produce them naturally; we must get EFAs from external sources. Most commonly, these are marine and plant sources.
