Krill Oil

Antarctic krill are small crustaceans that thrive in the icy waters of the Antarctic Ocean.  Krill oil provides a rich natural source of phospholipid-bound EPA and DHA, and a potent antioxidant called astaxanthin, which gives krill oil its vibrant red color. These omega phospholipids are more easily absorbed and digested by our body. Krill oil supports cognitive health, mood health, eye health, prenatal health and joint health.

Bioriginal has partnered with Olympic Seafood AS, to distribute the Friend of the Sea and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified RIMFROST KRILL COLLECTION. The RIMFROST difference begins with their krill-collecting vessel, Juvel, which has the latest technology and capabilities to ensure the freshest quality krill products, while protecting the krill biomass and Antarctic eco-system. Immediate on-board processing prevents degradation of the naturally healthy nutrients found in krill, while their precise krilling technology ensures they only collect the amount of krill they need at one time, and nothing more (no by-catch or disturbance to the seabed). Juvel also allows for low emissions, low energy use and low climate impact.

As well as being both Friend of the Sea and MSC certified, their ECO-COLLECTING approach is unparalleled in the industry, focusing on respect for the krill and the Antarctic ecosystem, while at the same time providing openness and 100% traceability to customers and consumers.

EPA: This omega-3 fatty acid supports cardiovascular health and prenatal health while lowering symptoms associated with depression, bipolar and arthritic conditions.

DHA: Studies show that DHA supports brain development, cognitive function, healthy vision and prenatal health while lowering symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and arthritis.

Phospholipids:  Omega fatty acids bound to phospholipids are able to cross the blood brain barrier to reach our brain cells.  Phosphatidylcholine, a specific type of phospholipid found in krill oil, increases production of a chemical that transmits signals in our brain called acetylcholine, boosting our memory and aptitude for learning.

Astaxanthin: Antioxidants are used to neutralize harmful metabolic byproducts. However, not all antioxidants can provide this protection to our brain and eyes. As astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant – more potent than Beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E – it has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and blood-retinal barrier to provide antioxidant protection to our brain and eyes.
