Human Resources Manager

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team.  The role will report to the CEO and will be based out of the Saskatoon office, with some travel to our other locations.

Core Responsibilities:

Talent Management:

  • Oversees the recruitment process for all North American operations.
  • Manages succession planning initiatives, including ensuring that the organization’s talent pipeline is appropriate for upcoming needs and opportunities.
  • Manages the employee termination and exit processes.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Oversees the payroll process for Bioriginal Canada and is involved with U.S. and European payroll processes as required.
  • Manages the Company’s compensation process, including salary reviews, salary ranges, bonus reviews and any off-cycle salary adjustments.
  • Oversees the benefits and pension administration, including vendor review and program changes.
  • Develops and implements various compensation strategies and incentive programs that help drive behaviors that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Employee Relations:

  • Develops and implements various HR related policies for the enterprise that drives employee engagement and meets organizational needs.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to managers and supervisors on employee relation issues and challenges.
  • Keeps abreast of any employee relations issues and challenges and brings forward solutions to address.
  • Stays current with any external HR related trends and best practices.

Safety:

  • Sits as an employer representative on the Saskatoon facility’s OHS committee.
  • Develops and implements various safety related policies that both meet safety requirements/needs as well as meet organizational needs.
  • Assists in facilitating safety related training for staff as required.
  • Manages WCB claims and other WCB related activities.
  • Manages the organization’s return-to-work program in relation to workplace injuries.

Performance Management:

  • Develops and implements performance management initiatives and metrics for the organization that drives appropriate performance and behaviors that align with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Manages the employee discipline process and other performance accountability measures as required.
  • Directs all performance management activities within the organization, including the annual performance review process, position agreements, performance improvement plans, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of progressive human resources experience, with experience within a food production environment or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills required.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Must have the ability to influence others.
  • CPHR designation is preferred.
  • Must able to think at a strategic level.
  • Occasional travel is required.
