Maintenance Mechanic

Reporting to the Operation Manager,  the Maintenance Mechanic  is responsible for working with multiple stake holders on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic processing equipment and facilities in support of industrial food production operations with the goal of first-run quality and top notch equipment reliability.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports a culture that is consistent with Bioriginal’s beliefs and values
  • Follows established department GMP’s, SOP’s and batch record instructions
  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned
  • Ensure Plant Preventative Maintenance and Work Order programs are followed as structured and all CMMS documentation is completed
  • Working with vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot, repair and upgrade all process and facility equipment
  • Assist Production as necessary to ensure smooth, safe, consistent and quality operation of all process and facility equipment
  • Comply with safety programs to ensure personal safety
  • Completes various preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including basic repairs
  • Attend various mandatory safety and departmental meetings
  • Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved
  • Assist other personnel as needed and perform other duties essential to the Production facility as requested
  • Other duties as assigned by the production supervisor

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Must be willing to work shift work, including weekends, holidays and nights
  • Wisconsin Driver’s License Required
  • Mechanically inclined, troubleshooting skills
  • Problem Solving abilities
  • 1 – 2 years’ Experience working in a dairy, processing or manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Forklift operation
  • Must have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Shift Schedules are M to F: 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am
