Process Operator

We are currently searching for a Process Operator to provide support to our Saskatoon Oil Plant.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Process Operator is expected to comply with all applicable HR, OHS, GMP and food safety policies and procedures. The role is entry level and as such, must be able to complete the tasks and duties as outlined below.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Trained on and follows all GMP & HACCP protocols and SOPs (i.e. hygiene, sanitation, documentation, etc.) to ensure product is produced to specifications
  • Keeps the production areas clean and tidy up to Company standards
  • Tracks all work time accurately and honestly within Bioriginal’s time & attendance system
  • Completes all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual checklists (i.e. sanitation, preventative maintenance, weekend shut down, etc.)
  • Ensures all equipment is operated safely and reports any safety concerns or incidents
  • Ensures all data is collected and documented accurately as per the specific process directives provided, including, material inputs, finished product outputs, by-product outputs, packaging used, production yields and the amount of time it took complete the process
  • Ensures that the method and time taken to clean before and after the process is properly documented
  • Records and documents all events during a production batch, such as process conditions, temperature, pressure, flow rates, any deviations, etc. Writing must be in blue ink only,and be neat and legible
  • Ensures product is accurately labelled with lot number, item code and net weight. All partials are to include a “partial sticker”
  • Completes production batch record documentation
  • Follows proper sampling procedures
  • Is trained on and handles and stores hazardous materials safely and properly
  • Understands process flows (i.e. plumbing schematics, symbols, etc.)
  • Understands and can complete the various cleaning procedures for each piece of equipment
  • Must be able to operate oil extraction and do blends independently

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable with rotating shift work
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a packaging, food service or food production environment is preferred
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds
