Process Operator

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, as well as receiving direction from the Production Lead Hand, the Process Operator operates various equipment and machinery, as well as ensuring standard processes are followed, to ensure production schedules, quality standards and safety requirements are met or exceeded.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Follows applicable GMP’s, SOP’s and batch record instructions related to the production processes.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Attends various mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
  • Follows all food safety procedures and protocols.
  • Operates and monitors equipment associated with production processes (i.e. intake equipment, processing equipment, packaging equipment, etc.).
  • Ensures all required sanitation tasks are completed to Company standards.
  • Troubleshoots problems and issues that arise in the production process.
  • Completes various preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including basic repairs.
  • Performs various quality checks and tasks, to ensure the product will meet required specifications, including collection and processing of samples.
  • Ensures all accurate information is recorded on all operation logs, bills of lading, scale weights, etc.
  • Provides support to any and all tasks and operations for which they have been trained on.
  • Other duties as assigned by the production supervisor or lead hand.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to continuously lift over 50lbs during a shift.
  • Must be willing to work shift work, including weekends, holidays and nights.
  • Must be willing and capable of working with various sanitation chemicals.
  • Must be willing and capable of obtaining a license to operate a forklift, previous forklift experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working in a dairy, processing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Shift Schedules are M-F 7am to 3pm; 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am.
