The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is an intricate network of receptors and signaling molecules (endocannabinoids) found throughout the entire human body. The signaling molecules can also be found in plants such as industrial hemp, and are called phytocannabinoids.
Cannabinoid receptors (CB1, CB2, TRPV1, TRPA1) are like locks on the surface of cells that enable two-way communication between the body systems. Endocannabinoids (anandamide, 2-AG) and Phytocannabinoids (CBN, CBG, CBC, THC, etc.) are the keys to activating these locks and maintaining homeostasis—a natural state of balance in the body.
