Quality Assurance Manager

Our Quality Department is currently searching for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their Reedsburg, Wisconsin team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the Facility’s compliance with various certification process, including the FSMA and GFSI compliance under the BRC standard.
  • Implements and monitors all required programs and procedures that assure HACCP/HARCP programs, are implemented in ways that protect the safety of manufacturing products within the facility.
  • Participates and contributes to continuous improvement of the facility’s and departmental SOPs as required.
  • Oversees and manages the Company’s inbound and outbound product testing and release.
  • Reviews and oversees the disposition of any raw materials and finished products in out of specification situations.
  • Reviews and signs-off on all product Certification of Authenticity.
  • Leads Non-Conformance Reporting as required (i.e. proper conduct, completion of documentation, etc.)
  • Collaborates with the operations team in regard to troubleshooting sessions related to product manufacturing failure investigations and out of specification situations.
  • Ensures internal facility audits are executed as planned in fulfilling cGMP and BRC objectives.
  • Plans, documents and validates that employee training is relevant and current as required by various regulatory and Company standards.
  • Ensures that all supplier audits, as well as 3rd party laboratory and co-manufacturers, as required by regulatory standards, are taking place and remain current.
  • Ensures the Company’s Pest Control Program is functioning as intended.
  • Maintains up-to-date and relevant product documentation required for product disclosure and presentation to customers (i.e. SDSs, Flow Diagrams, Allergen Reports, etc.)
  • Ensures all Company and product certifications are current.
  • Handles all responses for Corrective Actions & Preventative Actions required to address non-conformances stemming from regulatory and 3rd party audits.
  • Manages the department’s expense budget.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance Leadership within a food production facility.
  • Experience leading a small team is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, biology, nutrition or related field is required, with a preference with a Master’s Degree.
  • Experience working in a Dairy or Whey production facility is preferred.
  • Working regularly with the operations team, strong collaboration skills required.
  • Must be comfortable working in fast paced environment, making recommendations and decisions quickly.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) is required.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills required.
  • The ability to influence others is critical.
  • Occasional travel is required.
